About the Adobe Digital Media (ADM) Academy

The Middle Creek High School Adobe Digital Media (ADM) Academy is intended for students with a sincere interest in the fields of
  • graphic design,
  • animation,
  • audio/video production and
  • other aspects of digital media, like web design.
ADM students engage in a course sequence for four years that exposes them to rigorous curriculum developed through the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.

The ADM allows students to learn in a collaborative manner while acquiring the problem solving and teamwork skills necessary for success in college and career readiness. ADM students are cohorted in selected core classes that are designed to enhance and enrich the existing curriculum through integrated projects in a rich technology-based environment. 
The Adobe Digital Media Academy provides students access to:
  • Integrated learning environments
  • A wide variety of technology resources
  • Certification tests in the following Adobe software programs: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Animate, Premiere, and Dreamweaver
  • Business and industry expertise through
  • Presentations, demonstrations, and seminars
  • Field trips
  • Job shadowing
  • Mentoring
  • Internships
All academy students will have the opportunity to participate in a summer or semester internship between their junior and senior year. The program sequence, hands-on experiences, and business involvement provides an understanding of new and emerging career fields. Students completing the program, which includes the coursework and internship, will graduate from the academy. 

About the Engineering & Design Academy

NOTE: As of the 2020-2021 school year, Middle Creek is not accepting new applications to the Engineering and Design Academy.

The Middle Creek High School Engineering & Design Academy (EDA) is intended for students with a sincere interest in the fields of engineering and technology or STEM-based careers. The EDA allows students to explore the pathway of Engineering & Design, applying concepts from the engineering design process to creating projects. Academy students will also embark on a four year course sequence that exposes them to rigorous curriculum developed through the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.

Students learn to work in a collaborative manner to acquire the problem solving and teamwork skills necessary for success in college and career readiness. Academy students are cohorted in selected core classes that are designed to enhance and enrich the existing curriculum through integrated projects in a rich technology-based environment. 
The EDA provides students access to:

  • Certification tests in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor
  • Business and industry expertise through
  • Presentations, demonstrations, and seminars
  • Field experiences
  • Job shadowing
  • Mentoring
  • Internships
